mad men appies

yes we all know a mad men party needs good cocktails, but what are some good vintage 60s hors d'oeuvres to serve with said old skool cocktails? I'm looking for something a bit more refined than chex mix, but I'll do it.

What IS Frau?

An immensely creative friend of mine has coined the knack for all things homemaker-y as the gift of "frau." This is a place to discuss cooking, the culture and politics of food, cooking resources, and more.

While some believe that frau is a mysterious and inherent gift, I believe that it can be taught/learned/shared. Cooking and enjoying the fruits of labor in the kitchen is one of the most elemental things we can do as humans. Like breathing, walking, and, of course, eating, we *all* have the caveperson genes to take the bounty of the earth and sea and turn it into nourishing meals that delight our senses and fill our bellies.

So, while you may think yourself inept in the kitchen, trust in the power of frau. Ask questions. Give advice. Or just write about food you love to eat.
